Default How long before you got new brake pads?

I am finally getting mine replaced for the first time at 71k miles. My rear's didn't quite need it yet but I just decided to do both right now. I wonder if that is quite a bit higher than most. I like to engine break a lot so I actually don't use my breaks very much except when I have tracked my Z and I have only done that twice. Was curious how many miles it was for some other people before they replaced the pads?

I think the stock pads just last forever. Don't know of any car that has pads that live that long. And I only DD on the stock pads, but I have been known to DD like an ASSSHOLE. So when I changed them at 35k miles, they had more than half their life left.

Just about to hit 40K miles on my '09 7AT and will be changing them out this weekend. Rears seem to be closest to running out. I engine brake from time to time but would rather the wear items like the brakes take the brunt of it.

Good to know I won't need new ones for a while. Is there an expiry date on the pads?

I'm a little over 60K and mine still have plenty of life left. I use gearing to slow down and brake only when necessary. They still have plenty of bite as well, lol.

Currently at 40k on my 2015 base, going to change the fronts out this weekend.

I will see how much life was left.

I've had issues with the rotors at ~15K and again at ~36K. The car vibrated during high speed braking. At 15K I had the stock rotors resurfaced and pads replaced. It was fine for a while then at 36K the problem came back, so I purchased new rotors but left the same pads installed. She's good once again.

just replaced the rear brakes on a g37s auto at 99k miles. original oem sport brake pads and it is a DD. the front still looks good, probably 30% left.

Pad life is all dependent on the driving. I replaced my oem pads (nismo option) ones at 20k only to find out they still had ~40-50% material left. On the other hand after ~500 miles on the track there was nothing left of my track pads but bare metal. Just change them when you hear the squealing sound from them.

Switched out the front OEM brake pads last weekend, still had over 50% life on them with 40k miles on the Z.
