I had the same problem, vibrating steering wheel when braking.
I’m getting stop tech rotors and pads.
My Z has 29k miles.

vibrating steering wheel = improper bedding or warped rotor

if the pads/rotors are relatively new and you're getting that, its probably improper bedding

Think it was about 5k miles when I changed mine. They's still sitting on the shelf in a box looking practically new. :stirthepot:

I would have to agree the Nissan OEM brake pads will last a long time a specially if you are conservative with the brake petal. Only time I really see the Nissan OEM brake pads being replaced early is if you are very hard on your brakes,have problems with your rotors or calipers,and if your brake pads don’t bed in properly. On my last 370Z I replaced the front and rear brake pads at 58k miles and there was not much life left on the brake pads.

New pads and new rotors would fix the vibrating steering wheel, correct?

20k miles and 5 years. After three track days now I feel like the brakes are starting to fade. It's the time to change the pads but i'll wait.

2009 with 65K still stopping strong, a very slight shudder when stopping at red lights at normal speed, but not enough to justify changing the pads/rotors. Original everything so mine have lasted what, 9 years? Damn.

Finally was able to take out of storage yesterday and realized the car is 8 years old already. Still has original brakes (pads and rotors) with almost 29,000 miles. No shudder or other signs that they need to be replaced...

My car is a 2011 with sport package at 43k and still has oem pads and rotors. How does everyone check how much brake pad is left over without taking the calipers off? With my other DD Honda I can just take out the wheel and look at the side of the brakes where as the sport brakes it's not visible to see the pads

Like 500 miles. Two track weekends and my front brakes were gone. You can get them to last a 100k miles or less then 1k its all in how you use them.

You have to remove the wheel to inspect the pad thickness.

Just did mine at 59k this past weekend. Wasnt having any issues, I was just bored, and firgured they gotta be getting down there. I had the new pads in the cabinet for 2 years now waiting.......... I was shocked by 2 things.. #1 There was better than 50% of pad remaining #2 Easiest brake pads to change ever.

just did the fronts at 33.5k. i was surprised since i don't track and i'm not a crazy driver. maybe the first owner who had the car for less than 5k miles rode the brakes or had a few hard stops. or the dealer. i guess i could have waited a bit longer but it's the only repair i've had since i've owned it for over 4 years.
