09 touring with red calipers?
hey all, I bought a 09 touring a little while ago and it has red brake calipers. Was this a touring feature or did the previous owner paint them? thanks!
|
Is it a Touring + Sport Pkg? If so the owner had the brakes painted/powdercoated.
If it is just a Touring model the previous owner likely bought the Akebono BBK new or used. If it was a used '09-'12 set they had them powdercoated red. They could of got a set of the '13+ which come red from the factory. |
^^ It could also be base brakes that someone painted red. Without pics and a description of the calipers we dont know.
|
Now who would do a silly thing like that? No one in their right mind would want to draw more attention to base brakes. If anything I would get them painted black.

Haha I didnt say it'd be pretty just a possibility.

Hard to say without pics OP. Are the calipers the sliding/floating type or fixed? Any markings?

It's touring only no sport...

Base brakes painted red, no doubt. You can tell by the texture that they are painted as opposed to powdercoated.

Thanks Zeus and De (by text)!!!

I upgraded mine to the sport brake and had Mike @ thepowdercoater.com do mine in black yellow lettering. If your interested he does great work and is a member here.
|
If I had base brakes I would paint them black. Make them disappear.
