Swift springs just installed

Is it common to hear pops and such after the install. I can't seem to get the top shock bolt tight. It just spins and both front shocks are rattling

Default Swift springs just installed

Is it common to hear pops and such after the install. I can't seem to get the top shock bolt tight. It just spins and both front shocks are rattling while driving. How do I get them tight?

The "bolt" needs the be secured with a wrench while you turn the nut. I believe I used 8mm combination wrench to hold the stem and 10mm box end to turn the nut.

The nut is larger than a 10mm. Think it's 17mm. I will look for a closed end angled wrench tomorrow.

You are probably right. But notwithstanding the size, that is how I did it. Having to brace the stem is pretty typical with shocks. Sometimes it is an allen hex instead.

Understood. Will do this tomorrow. I believe I will need a special offset wrench also.

He might not be talking to you at all, he might be referring to the guy above him, from his three other threads about his swift springs...he didn't be the best job installing the swifts and most of us thought he did a reckless job and should bring his car to a professional . so don't take it personally....well unless he is talking about you, then...do as you feel, hahahha.Good luck with your swifts man.

I'm not implying it - I'm saying it.
Get a professional reputable suspension shop to do all your suspension work.

Safety for others on the road should be paramount.

don't give a **** for the fall out I will receive for my comment - you will find others would properly agree with me on this one dude - seriously!

As stated before. I merely drove down the driveway and heard noise. I stopped the car and turned around. Re-tightened the top hats with an impact gun and done. So now you can gtfo my thread with your negativity. It's people like you who ruin car communities like this. I will continue doing ALL my own work. It's not over my head.

Now...time for an alignment.

So the car sits level now and isn't making noise anymore? What ended up being the problem? We weren't hating. You were installing them in an unsafe manner. Pointing that out isn't hating.
