Tracy Ramsey

my question exactly.

could be just driver error... free to fix. i would also try different tires.

So 245s in back? That's not enough rubber for stock power, much less 100whp over stock.

Yes 245s, what are you running on the rear?

I had no idea Nissa had an open diff in the touring, thanks for the info! 400 HP and an open diff can't lead to anything good, that will be fixed ASAP.

Sport wheels come with 275s, Nismos with 285s. You need more rubber.

There are all kinds off driver problems to deal with but there is something else to this also. I'm not afraid to admit I'm learning but the back end shouldn't be this twitchy. I watched a Porsche GT3 cup car destroyed sliding down a wall this weekend and I don't want to be that guy!

Agree'd. More rubber will help out without installing a LSD. I think the best idea would be to pick up a good aftermarket LSD or swap in a Stock one if possible (used to do that on E36's back in the day).

They are both on 19s right? My rears are about done so I will look into getting more. Thanks again Chuck and everyone else who offered advise!

You've got 18s. Sports have a 19x10 rear, Nismos 19x10.5. If you're buying new wheels, a 19 is an annoying size. You don't have as many options. A set of 18x10 all around would do you just fine with appropriate tires.

Thanks Mark! After speaking to you Saturday everything went perfect the rest of the weekend, thanks again!

Great, I hope you don't mind me telling the wife you told me to do it! I live by it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission but she doesn't find it funny!

Did you stay on power when it broke loose or lift? 370z have natural intial wag that catches if you stay on power. If you lift with rear end moving it will swing even harder. Big front bar will help you.

Truthfully I think I lifted for a split second before getting back on it to recover it. I'm new at this and the supercharger has made it a handful for my skill level but it just didn't feel right. Sway bars are in it's near future because while it doesn't feel bad in the car the photos show a lot of body roll, any recommendations for the rear bar?

Shamu has a lot more experience than I do, but I'd personally approach it in the order of: 1. tires, 2. diff and then any suspension changes. What feels best on an open diff and 245s in back may not be the same thing as what feels best with a real diff and appropriately sized rubber and you only want to buy parts once.

I'm ordering a diff, sway bars and brake ducts today and will look at wheels when I have a chance.

Id say diff and much much bigger tires should be your priority with that much power. Something like a 265 or 275 front and a minimum of a 305 in back should get you moving better.

Make sure the rear sway is adjustable. What feels best with 245s may not with 275+ rears. I would buy a set of rear SPL endlinks as well. Bigger sways like to break the OEM links.
