Shorter ball joint for SPC upper control arms
Had anyone changed the ball joints that come on the spc arms for shorter ones? They are so much taller than the ones on the stock upper control arm and it hits on hard bumps/dips.

i think this has been an issue for a couple years now. its why everyone was waiting so patiently for SPL to make a set.

Ouch they are not cheap, had anyone had clearance issues with them?

I'm waiting on my coils to come in I don't plan on slamming it though. Maybe an inch but nothing more till I can save for the spl arms.

So you are 2.49 in lower than stock which is fuggin low! That's why, if your on coils, Just stiffen up the compression or raise the car up and get bigger wheels. To be that low the risk vs gain is very high for these nice cars. I would rather be safe and not "oh hella flush" than break stuff and loose the car and possibly myself or my wife. You can still look good and be safe and not jack up stuff. But it's you're car, just don't make a thread saying "crashed my z because pos spc arms were faulty".

For everyone that was wondering, my buddy made me some custom arms for max clearance, these will never hit.

I have been tossing around the idea of having some just like yours made but with adjustable ends on the body-side too so that I can use sphericals there and use spacers for caster adjustment. |

I just installed a set of spcs(couldn't pass up the price) Im on swifts and koni, the left arms hits quite a bit, only had the right do it once...I did not want to shell out for spl, but looks like its gonna happen...sigh.

Its a really good street setup, IMO. I have also learned you can easily turn them into coilovers as well, koni sells a sleeve for the front and another company sells a kit you bolt into the bucket. Then you can run whatever springs you like! I will be doing this in the future for sure, the swift spec r are great springs, but I like linear springs better.
