Axle slop anyone?

I've been noticing (recently) a clicking sound on the driver side rear - and usually only as I come to a (slow) stop. Occasionally I will hear it as I am taking off from a dead stop. I suspect either - pads slapping around in caliper (i hope not)... OR play in the axle (also hoping not). Anyone else have this issue? Thanx

That axle click is pretty common and fixable under warranty.

I bought it new in Jul 2010 and it has almost 39k on it now....still under warranty?

Not the 3/36k.

thought that was just tightening to 133ft/lbs on the center nut driver side.

I had this axle click as well and the tech brought it in, repacked grease into something (not sure what exactly) and I haven't experienced it since. No issues since they did this and its been about a year.

That's what they did with mine. No issues in 5k+ miles since.

Kool...Thanx! Will definitely check that out.

i asked them to do mine at 46k miles and they said not for free.... said it was outa warranty to fix the click...

six months later the sound went away. im sure when things warm up again ill hear it.

Your axle joints are dry and you may have to get them repacked or replaced. I had to do this when I owned my 350Z at 95k miles. I purchased mine used from a salvage yard from a low mileage Z.

I mentioned this before but I had a similar issue and it was actually a TPMS the broke and was rolling in the wheel which is why I only heard it when moving slow. Never got a light on the dash because it was still transmitting.
