strange alignment numbers
 

ok, i just got back from the alignment shop and was very surprised to find that my front camber was only -1.25 with the eibach springs installed. i was expecting something closer to -2.0 (i actually wanted about -2.7). most people who have lowered their cars have been getting much more negative camber, correct?

i thought there were eccentric bolts in the front control arms to give at least a little bit of adjustability but apparently not. the front is NOT adjustable for camber. i never thought it would be a problem, b/c i expected much more negative in the front after the spring installation, so even if there were no factory adjustability, i would have been "close enough". but -1.25 is way too little!

the rears also had another problem: i have the spc camber arms, which came with toe bolts. turns out the bolts from spc are not quite long enough. the mechanic said he'll do the alignment for me, but highly recommends to get that issue resolved b/c of safety reasons. the botl is long enough jsut to engage about 2/3 of the nut. you can see from the picture that the nut is not completely screwed on (no more thread b/c the botl is too short). if it comes off, i'm screwed. see attached picture.

did they give me a wrong part or are all the bolts with the spc kit like this? i cant believe this. so frustrating......

Hope you have this issue resolved by this Thursday since that's when I'm getting my spc camber arms installed. D:

You'll need to buy an adjustable upper link if you want to dial in more camber. The only factory adjustability up front is Toe. Due to the geometry up front, camber changes very little as the suspension articulates or is modestly lowered..

Just did an alignment on Saturday. Noone at the alignment shop said anything to me about the toe bolts being too short. I'll have to take a look myself and see if its the same for me.

the part number on my box is: 72050. is this the correct part number for the 370z? the alignment shop was working on a 350z (installing an spc rear camber arm with toe bolt) and his toe bolt is exactly the same as the one on my car. is it possible that they gave me the bolt for the 350z instead of the 370z??

seems like there have been some mix ups in the past when it comes to aftermarket companies giving parts for the g37 or other "similar" cars when customers order stuff for the 370z...

Note the parts I bolded! It indeed looks like you got the set for the 350z.

yup, turns out that the incorrect bolts were given to me. amplified installed the correct ones for me yesterday. they said somethign about parts being mis-labeled from spc.
at least they were good about getting everything resolved quickly for me.
