squishy sound in rear suspension

anyone know what it could possibly be? sounds like something rubbery/squishy in the rear suspension/rear driverside. I hear it all day long, will take it to Nissan tuesday, just want to know you guys thoughts.

thanks

swaybar bushing or shot shocks maybe? take a flash light and see if you can see any fluid spilling out the rear shock housing.

thank you....i will check before taking it to Nissan tuesday. In the meantime, will shop for shocks. any recommendations? sway bar bushings? really? good grief.

I've heard this noise as well, albeit with aftermarket suspension.

I removed everything and greased moving parts, and it seems to have gone away. I originally thought it was the shock, though.

Could just be squeaky rubber bushings...

I soooo hope it is just needing new rubber bushing...

so wat was the root cause? :)

if they were bushings, you could just re-grease them with white lithium grease. lasts a very long time.

what happen ? I thought you had coilovers ?

Z-Girl 12 11-12-2013 08:19 PM

I overslept and missed my appointment so I had to reschedule for next Monday. In the meantime I'm scooting around in my Honda;) Will definitely update you guys when I hear back, I sure hope it's is something as simple as greasing the bushing.

Too early for your coils to fail. ck for leaks. You will not see it if there's a boot covering it, not sure if there is with you set up. Do you have sways? If so, you may need to grease it up or use teflon tape.

So my service advisor called me back and said they test drove it and definitely heard the squishy sound. They couldn't find anything after putting him up on the lift. she said they greased everything then took it for a drive and the noise is gone. They believe it was the bushings, I'm so happy, but I did spend all day waiting to see if the noise came back, paranoid I guess.

Hope it's a permanent fix. Thanks guys for cyber diagnosis :)

Sounds good.

I use white lithium grease on bushings :)

Z-Girl 12 11-19-2013 08:24 PM

I remembered you recommended that but where can I get that?

Z-Girl 12 11-19-2013 08:25 PM

And why do you use it? Your bushings squeak to? Or just preventative measures?
