Front camber arm selection?
 

I am looking to get about 2 degree of camber on my car, the car would be used for track mostly. I am looking to see what options I have. It seems like the big companies are SPL and SPC. I do not like the Kinetic setup. Are there other good companies I am missing? I understand the SPL unit is awesome, but it is twice the price, is it really worth while to drop $700 for camber arms?

Also how hard is it to install it. I assume popping the balljoint at the top is the hardest?

Nothing wrong with the kinetix. It's proven.

I had Eibach, just upgraded to SPL - reason, Eibach was getting more difficult to hold its camber as the car is getting more arduous track-day usage with more agressive settings. I have also moved away from 245/40R18 fronts to 265/35R18 fronts and am getting "a lot" more front-end grip.

I have the SPC upper control arms, which I assume is the same as your control arms and they're awesome. You have soo much adjustability with them not only for camber but caster as well. I recommend getting them and even look around for a "combo pack" of the adjustable upper control arms as well as rear camber arms.

Plus very simple to install

You have Doran arms (camber only), SPL arms (camber and caster, lots of adjustment for both), SPC arms (camber, very little caster) and then everyone else (camber only for the most part). I went with the SPL's. Worth the wait. ;) Here's my thread on the install to give you an idea on what it takes. Figure about 2hrs per side, depending on your skill level.

I don't mind spl, just hard for me to sink 700 into it when I just dropped 2k on suspension

Unless you reenforce SPC or eibach, they're gonna slip. The fact that SPC have broke in the rear makes me say no on that and any package deal. Doran are probably as much as SPL so you really only have a few few options. Drop the cash, spend more to make something better, or just get what others have with good luck at least for a easy install and no worries about changing alignment. I don't know enough about geo to constantly be at an alignment shop changing settings and spending money so whatever caster ends up being is what its gonna be.

Do this if you must go with SPC and track...at least you will avoid slippage and having to pay to realign the car

^^^That's the mod I'm taking about but by the time and money the OP spends modding the SPC he might as well buy the SPL.

However I had this idea about the SPC slippage...drill two holes, put bolts through with nuts holding them down, then drill holes in the corners of each bolt and two sides of the SPC large nut and safety wire it closed. If you torque to at least 150lbs and safety wire, it's going no where.

SPL is all you need. SPC is fine also as long as you torque to 150lbs but the nut on top won't last long and get stripped. But there very cheap to replace. And I worried about the rubber insert bushings giving out

SPL really is all you need, we sell other camber arms but the SPL is by far the most well designed arm.

It may cost more, but the benefits, ease of adjustability, and the fact that you can count on nothing coming loose, justify the price. At least for me

Corner4 garage made a couple sets in the Kinetix style with steel arms and metal sphericals.

If you can wait for later in winter I'll trade for your transponder.

the new voodoo13 arms look as solid and simpler to adjust than the SPL, and that isn't trying to knock on SPL either.

Yeah, the SPL units look great, but the voodoo13 ones do look a lot simpler to set up and maintain.

I don't know about being simpler to adjust. The SPL's only need 3/16" allen to tighten down the adjustment points and a 1/2" socket to adjust the camber and caster. And you can reach them from over the top of the tire. The voodoo13 arms look like you need a wrench to tighten down the adjustment. That might be hard to get in there.
