Default $400 to install springs??

Hi guys, first I am new to doing mods on the car and don't know

anything about parts installation.

I just bought swift sport springs and went local shop to install it.

They quote me $400 for the installation and said it takes about 4-5 hours.

Is this about right?

Thanks guys.

Ok, so I searched and know that $400 for spring installation is overpriced. Is this right?

It costs around $200. Any recommend shop near Atlanta!?

I just had swift springs & replacement stud spacers installed... $525.00. Don't know if that's high, but I had peace of mind with the mech. that installed them.
If your in ATL, have you considered Z1? I'm pretty sure they are a sponsor of this forum...

$400 is a bit steep, I think shops usually charge around 100-200. the rears are extremely easy, the fronts are a little more work but nothing too difficult.

If they are installing the springs, and doing an alignment, thats about right. If theyre doing toe bolts and/or camber arms for that price its pretty good

You can do it yourself and save a lot of dough. Installing the rears is easy but for the fronts, remove the struts and take them to a local shop to swap the springs for you.

From what I gather, they'll charge you ~$50 to do the swap (this was true in my case). Reinstall and be done.

Thanks for the reply guys. To make sure, that price is only for the springs. They quote me $500 for the spring and also alignment.

500 for springs and alignment is decent. Alignment (4 wheels) will cost around 100 to do or 180 at firestone for lifetime alignments. If you're military, the auto hobby shop can help you out.

I paid $225 after getting several quotes of 4-600 to have them installed. Shop took 2 hours to do it. Most quoted me at 4-6 hours.

pretty close to what we would charge for install with alignment. In fact we would be a little higher...but we are a dealership. Even a small shop though would normally charge close to that rate.

Do it yourself then pay 80 for an alignment. The diy section is right on target. It is an easy job. The hardest and most pia part is getting the car off the ground.
