Upper control arm hits strut tower
I just installed my coilovers and on bumps the upper control arm smacks the underside of the strut tower. I know this is from the car being too low but is there any way to stop this from happening without raising the car? Possibly aftermarket control arms/camber arms?

Aftermarket control arms will most likely have the same issue. You're just too low. Raise the car up and the problem will go away. On a side note, how do you not have adjustable control arms if you're that low? How fast are you killing tires?

I just installed the coilovers 2 days ago and got an alignment today, my toe is perfectly in spec so tire wear wont be too bad. My previous car had more negative camber and i was surpised at how little wear there was. Keeping the toe in spec is key.

Are the coilovers new? Do they need to settle like aftermarket springs do before you get an alignment?

even when you run neg camber on this your tire wear will still be ridiculous if you are that low. Out of the frying pan and into the fire imho.

I don't disagree, but the tire doesn't exactly wear EVENLY. Oh I know about toe, from the factory I had so much toe I thought I had a shoe. Tires were feathered to hell at 22k.

If you have smacked the underside of the tower even once, you may have done damage to your spindles. The answer here is to raise the car, there is no other solution. I'll pray for you. |

That low and stock upper control arms? I'm about to go not even 2" low and I think I'll need them. You set your toe specs to stock?
