Cheap ebay Lowering Springs

Has anyone tried these? For under $80 bucks shipped, this would cover my install cost easily for what it would cost me for name brand ones. There's always a catch though.

1 5" Drop Suspension lowering Springs Spring 09 12 Nissan 370Z Z34 G37 V36 Black | eBay

Get ready to get burned

Personally I'd cut my springs before eBay crap went on

Z-Girl 12 07-28-2013 07:13 PM

OP are you serious? Even if I owned a Civic I wouldn't put them on just because of the cost. That cost screams garbage, and suspension to me is as important as brakes/tires. Definitely not worth going the cheap.route.

Chuck33079 07-28-2013 07:14 PM

Oh for ***** sake. Really? $80 eBay lowering springs?

enkei2k 07-28-2013 07:24 PM

Do it!

:stirthepot:

No really, please don't. Your car deserves better than that

nogoodname 07-28-2013 07:26 PM

Seems legit. Go for it, it's just springs.

Trips 07-28-2013 07:29 PM

Why don't you just go to a muffler shop have them heat up the coils to drop it? :stirthepot:

But seriously save your money and don't waste it on JUNK!

Your Z doesn't deserve it.

Chuck33079 07-28-2013 07:32 PM

OP, go to the classifieds and buy a set of used name brand springs. I'd explain why you shouldn't use the eBay ones, but to be honest, "$80 eBay springs" should tell you everything you need to know.

kenchan 07-28-2013 07:38 PM

Boing boing boing

...snap!

I have a friend who bought eBay springs and then cut them too.. :roflpuke2:

@OP do it if you want it to look good but drive like absolute ****. Really though, it's not worth the money or effort to put those on. Save up for some good stuff, you'll be thankful in the long run

Alkatraz 07-28-2013 07:53 PM

But they are "Speed Daddy's"!!!
The below statement is actually listed on one of the sellers other ad's which shows EXACTLY the same springs, with a different image background and different price:

"If item is questionable, please consult your local professional/mechanic before making purchase."

Amen to that!

nogoodname 07-28-2013 08:15 PM

They can't be worse than Megan Racing suspension products. Go for it!!! It's only 80$.

Jasonle 07-28-2013 08:20 PM

Good Luck!

synolimit 07-28-2013 09:16 PM

Lol the spring rates are half of OEM. That should be a 1995 Chysler New Yorker ride right there! Very comfortable and like floating on a cloud. Enough body roll to scrape the doors in a turn, but very comfortable!

critical 07-28-2013 10:42 PM

Ghetto. Buy something out of the classifieds.

Lol yep, plus it'll blow the oem shocks in a few months...then more $ spent on righting the wrong

Negative. The ad says the coils are cold wounded.

I guess they fell down in December?

Lol I did that at 16. Did it with a propane torch in the garage. Actually worked very well since it took forever to heat so the drop was slow and easy to control.

Ni55anPat 07-28-2013 11:56 PM

those are legit.

I have never known anyone who ran ebay cheapo springs

Probably not a good idea since quality springs aren't that expensive anyway

damian_mb 07-29-2013 12:31 PM

I think you got your answer.....If you get them GL!

Even if they were a legit set of springs that drop rate is way too aggressive and as others have said it will destroy the stock shocks.

Seriously though, you spent $30k+ on a sport car but you cant cant shell out $300 for Swifts? I would never consider running those cheapo ebay springs on a hyundai, let alone a Z. C'mon man!

Please don't do this. The stock springs that came with your car are FAR more higher quality than this. The stock springs are actually tuned from factory for our car. This pos is probably made in china that'll actually make your car handle worse than factory. Are you on the budget? How about making a "WANTED" thread in the classified section for a "take off" Nismo springs (from a regular nismo owner who upgraded to swift or w/e). He'll probably let you have it for $100 or even free (just pay shipping). and If you're curious how good is stock suspension? well here's a member doing autox on bone stock oem suspension. Stock suspension is good enough starting point for many motorsports event.

The work required to change the springs out is a lot. Save up for proper springs. Swifts would be the way to go. I got mine used for 250 shipped. Very much worth the cost and the drop looks great and rides even better than stock.

CFZ 08-01-2013 01:46 PM

lol

Fountainhead 08-05-2013 09:12 PM

This spring very famous, good for man!

lol I just looked @ the listing and was coming here to post that the spring rate is hilariously low.

I was gonna say Dodge Neon, but Chrysler New Yorker is even better!

You should get them and take some videos of the car bouncing off the bump stops, it'll be awesome and hilarious!

zfamous 08-07-2013 04:20 PM

Basically what everyone is trying to say is, no, don't do it. Your car deserves better.
