Clanks and things out back

For the past two weeks I'm hearing alot of metallic clanks from the rear suspension. Mostly on the right, after hitting a depressed area ,pot holes or just a bumpy road. Been to the dealer with no luck so far. They had it on a lift and found nothing loose. This noise is LOUD! My friends say it sounds like a truck going by with alot of ladders in the back. Going back to the dealer next week for a ride with the tech on some rough roads. Sounds like a shock bushing or coil spring damper missing. Told my wife if this continues, I'll just have to trade it in on a GT-R. She said " Whats a GT-R ?, no problem if it's quieter" Yeah, if only... Here's an update on the clank issue; Dlr. looked at the rear coil mount/bushing and concluded that everytime the wheel hits a depression in the road, the coil spring lifts off the bushing and then re-seats upon compression. He duplicated the noise by striking the bottom of the support with a rubber hammer causing the spring to jump. He held the spring with his hand and struck again, and the clank was no more! No rhyme nor reason to this. Any suggestions? I thought of liquid grease or WD40 but it will just wash out in time.

I'm getting the same kind of noise in my wife's roadster. Took it to the dealer today. got it back and they said the top wasn't latched good, and now no noise. Driving home same damn noise. I agree it sounds like loose suspension components. So what did they do to solve the problem? Seems to me like the coil spring shouldn't be coming off the bushing in the first place. LMK

This is the same sound Im getting with my coilovers. This is the first Ive heard someone with OEM suspension having the same issue.

Could it be that the springs are too stiff? Maybe a softer coil would prevent that. But then the whole suspension geometry would have to be reconfigured, that would be my guess.

It ain't right. He may have duplicated the noise, but it just ain't right. Yell louder at him, make sure he gets the message that IT AIN'T RIGHT.
