370z Nismo Rotors
I went to test drive at my local dealer here in DFW Texas & saw that the Nismo
did not have vented disc rotors on it, it was plain ol stock. Did the dealer take it out or did nissan forget to put them on. The specs & features on nissan's website list that the Nismo comes with it but did not see it at the dealer??? Anyone notice this too or is it just me??? |

which dealer in DFW has a nismo? might have to go see it.
I don't recall any of the ones I have seen having vented rotors.

Rotors on the Nismo are the same that come on the 370z coupe with sport package.

they all have vented rotors. I think you are thinking of crossdrilled. The venting is in between the front and back side of the rotor and allows air to travel through there, as opposed to one solid piece of metal.

good call Mike, I didn't think about that verbage they use to describe the channel between the rotors. They aren't cross-drilled or slotted, which is what the OP is thinking of.

yup my Nismo has ventillated. I wouldn't mind putting crossdrilled / slotted on there though :P

One thing I can say is that they alwayz have a great selection of Z's and GT-R's. The are usually the 1st to get the models as well in dfw. The prices are a lil high but I can say this much. It will be hard to find a model there with anything less than all accessories on the car. They usually offer tire guard or some warranty as part of the package. Some models even come with aftermarket 3M bras from there dealership n I haven't seen a car there yet without 35% tint. So the price is a lil up compared to some. But I haven't seen Z's on the lot as well equipped in dfw. I would recommend them... I have also purchased there so if u want a salesperson reference. Just PM me. I know which salesguys are good n who aren't. |

Nismo doesn't have solid rotors, it has ventillated rotors - I can tell you meant to say that with your summation

Slotted/cross-drill rotors can't be turned/re-surfaced. Current brake pads don't glaze rotors as much as in the older ones. IMHO, it is best to get a lighter two-piece rotors, add DOT 4 brake fluid, add better brake pads and install SS brake lines to your 370Z with sport package. This will reduce the unsprung weight and keep the brake pedal from bottoming out at track outings.
