Bringing this thread back to life I hope. Was interested to hear Shovelmans and Cossies comments on how the 510s have worked for them?
Im shopping around right now looking at the 510 's or Stance Pro Comp and any comments on how they have performed on track for those that have them.

Last I heard he wasn't happy. He spent a lot for not a great turn out or something. I run Stance custom 2 ways in 18k/12k and I'm happy with function and adustablity for both street and track.

Fortune Auto doesn't have the Z34 listed on their website anymore? That was for the 500 Series, not sure about the 510 Series though.

They are definitely working because one or two click on the shocks can have a notable change on the car. I think if I were to get it again, I would go even stiffer on the springs. I still feel like the front can use more springs, rear is fine. The quality on them is also something you have to be concerned about. My adjustment knob broke even before I put it on the car. I had to pay $20 to ship it back to have it fixed. I only have 2000 miles on it, but the paint seems to be holding up fine. The ride on the street is also very bearable. Keep note that you have to run the shocks at half stiff on the street, anything softer the car just feels floaty. As far is bang for the buck, they are terrible. For $2000, I am only gaining 1 to 2 sec at the track. To be fair, they do make the car easier to drive due to less sway. I think I was 1.2 sec faster at Laguna and 1.4 faster at sears point

Whatever your sprung for Ive been told by everyone they valve for the middle and have 2-3k adjustment above and below. If I were you I'd go 2k up in the front as long as it's not to far out of sync front to rear (6k I think?) and try that out. These cars need a lot of front!! 18k is kinda small for me. Shamu and I forget his name (silver car with aeromotions wing) are like 24k and 20k.

I am not a car setup guy, but the big bar and stiff springs have definitely made the car worse at low speed corners (aka hairpins). Yet at the medium to high speed corners, the car is just so much nicer. Along with the coilovers, you still need to have a big sway bar. Now depending on how competitive you are and what your end goal is, I still recommend doing just the sway bar and tires first.
I do have some SPL suspension kit ready for install, but probably wont install it until February. |
