Suspension Noise (Video Included)
Recently, I had a new short block put into my 2009 370Z because of oil consumption at a local dealer. Since it was done, I had a coolant leak, dust shield on the left front rotor rubbing, and a sticky clutch pedal. All of the issues have been resolved. My latest issue is that when I drive over a rough road or go over speed bumps (30 mph or less), the car makes this rattling sound like something is loose. I think the sound is coming from the front end. I put the car up on a lift and checked everything with a friend to see if anything was loose. At first we thought it was the front swar bar links so we disconnected the swar bar and drove around. The sound did not disappear. The car drives absolutely fine otherwise and between the exhaust and the radio, I can drown out the sound. It is just frustating that I can't figure out what it is! Any ideas guys?

Hard to hear, but I had my sways sound like that. But you said you already thought of that. Do you have lowering springs on the car?

Cant really hear anything...
I heard a little metal rattle, but it sounds just like you scraped a little.

If the sway bar chassis mounts are tight, check upper control arm for play, steering rack and strut mounts. Could also be the exhaust knocking against something if it didn't get tightened up correctly.

No lowering springs.
Suspension is completely stock on the car. Disconnected the front sway bar at the end links and drove around and the noise was still there. Didn't bother to look at the chassis mounting points. Taking it into the mechanic tomorrow. We'll see what he says. I'll post an update. Thanks.

I took the car in today to the mechanic and he thinks its the end links on the front sway bar. He said that the sound went away when he disconnected them and drove around in the parking lot. Funny thing is I did the same thing and the sound was still there. He showed me how the end links looked worn with no play. I don't have any plans to modify the suspension in the near future so I am just going to pick up an OEM set of endlinks to put on. Let's see if it does the trick. Will post an update.

A pair of new OEM sway bar front end links solved the problem.
