You could have just replaced the front rotors with an aftermarket light weight rotor. Those stoptech calipers aren't any more sturdy than akebonos since they arent an actual race caliper.

You could have just replaced the front rotors with an aftermarket light weight rotor. Those stoptech calipers aren't any more sturdy than akebonos since they arent an actual race caliper. For the $$$ I wouldnt have recommended this at all. Maybe if you stayed 4 pot but went with an AP racing caliper that is truely a lot more lighter weight and better built. But the specific brake kit you bought isnt going to gain you ANY performance difference than stock akebonos. You dropped what 3.5 lbs for $3,000? Also your piston size only went up a couple mm, also in no way going to show an improvement on the track at all. You would have seen MUCH better performance improvements while spending a lot less money by simply swapping rotors with a 2 piece DBA rotor, some aftermarket track pads, and high temp brake fluid, ss brake lines, and some brake cooling ducts.
Just my .2 but if you already had sports package brakes, this specific brake kit you bought is total waist of money and a little RICE if its just "#becausestoptech"

Reaper,
When you posted that kit, I meant to warn you, with the 15" rotors and just a couple mm clearance between the caliper and the wheel, little rocks and crap are going to get stuck up in between them and make awful noises and scrape up the rim and caliper. I used to get black flagged for noise when I had similar clearance with the brembos I used to run.

3.5 lbs? Try 29.6 lbs for less than $3000.
Have you seen the piston sizes on the 6P kits? The same can be said about the 6P kits. Just for fun. The following is just a piston surface area comparison only. I know there are a lot more factors that determine actual front to rear balance like rotor size. (Surface area numbers below are just one side of the caliper.) Hopefully my math is right. StopTech BBK 4 Piston front 14" (355x32mm) rotor 40-44 2777.1 mm2 68% front 32% rear 6 piston front 15" (380x32mm) rotor rotor 30-34-36 2632.5 mm2 67% front 33% rear 6 piston front 14" (355x32mm) rotor 34-34-36 2833.6mm2 68% front 32% rear 4 piston rear 14" (355x32mm) 28-30 1322.5mm2 OEM SP 4 piston front 14" rotor 38-40 2390.7mm2 68.9% front 31.1% rear 2 piston rear 13.8" rotor 37 1075.2mm2

No, unless you count the spare tire.
StopTech says 18's will clear the 14" rotor kit. I think Mike has experience running 18's with StopTechs.
