Coilovers

I have swift springs right now. And I'm looking for more of a drop. What are the best coils for under $1000? Thank you

Yes sir! Just had them installed couple days ago...im 1" lowered in front and 1.5 lowered in the back...I have a full body kit so I cant lower it that much...but ive seen it low low on other cars before. The ride is great!

I got my coilovers for a good deal used ($550). Just keep lookin through the for sale section...you will come across some.

So not to thread jack Csprad12, but I thought I'd ask my question here instead of starting a new thread. I know there's tons of threads on different coilovers, but I need some clarification. At first I had my mind set on Stance, but it seems like a lot of people are running BC's and more or less getting the same look im going for. I plan to AutoX occasionaly but for the most part I want to aggresively lower my car for looks. Is it safe to say theres not big difference between the two brands? Does it just come down to preference?

Id advise to throw down a few more bills and go with hks or kw. Seems like all the Taiwan made coilovers have horrible valving.

Yea I hear ya, Its just lately i've been always going over my budget with my mods and I was trying to actually stay within budget this time. Overtime yes, I could save up the extra, but I got wheels coming in this month so i'm trying to get all the parts together sooner than later.

HKS and KW are the best choices BUT if you have a budget of 1000 and under then I would go BC over stance. I had BC's on my 350z and the ride was great. The only problem with all the made in Taiwan coilovers is some of the struts have issues. A friend of mine is on his 2nd set of replacing all struts after 1 year with BC coilovers... They are replaced for free BUT its a bit of a hassle.

What about TEIN basics? Or even like Tanabe coilovers? Get something at least made in Japan or America not Taiwan

One big thing to keep an eye on besides where they are made is spring rates. For street driving I wouldn't go higher then a 10kg front 8kg rear. 9kg/9kg is a good set up as well. Any higher and you will hate your car for street driving.

Yea I was actually looking at the tein's. I was looking around and seen that some guys have had some issues with the BC's making odd noises and giving them trouble. My budget isn't really set on a 1k, but bieng that I probably won't be tracking I didn't really feel the need to buy some of the higher end models. I might have to just bite down tho and buy a little better quality coilover

Now that I actually did a little more digging I see that I can get brands like tein or tanabe for about the same or even a little less

No problem here with the BC ER after 3 years on track, then again pot holes and city streets probably but more abuse on shocks than a race track does

I messaged you back from where you posted on my profile.
Just wanted to re-iterate I would recommend throwing down 1800-2000 on suspension for KW or HKS due to the substantial better quality then other coilovers.

Even with that being said
I had BC's on my 350z and i was amazingly surprised at how much better the ride quality was once i honed in the dampening control perfectly for street. I drove the car hard and they took it well BUT i only had them for around a year to year and a half.
Im not sure if the people that have issues with them dont install them correctly (too much pre-load etc) or just get unlucky with a faulty strut...
