alignment problem?
 

Ok guys so I intalled my eibach pro springs and h&r 20/25mm spacers and went to get an alignment. But now my cars steering is off! I have to keep the wheel few degrees to the left to go straight and when I put the wheel completely straight the car drifts to the right.

The shop put it back on the rack twice and the computer showed the steering at 0 degrees for both tires. I would go test drive and the same problem the cars still drifts to the right. So they put it back on the rack and the steering is now off..

Do you guys have any idea what might be going on? anyone experience this?

Its really annoying not being able to keep the wheel straight its all i look at when im driving..

They have to center the steering wheel and lock it in place before lifting the car for alignment.

Steering wheel angle sensor needs to be calibrated.

Need a Consult III.to do that!!

can you pease explain to me what exactly you mean? is there a way to reset the sensor? Pm me if you can

Didn't know that alignment racks measure steering angle. I'm guessing that when they say each wheel is 0 degrees they are talking about toe angle.

Most likely when they adjusted the toe they didn't keep the steering wheel centered.

no we made sure the wheel was dead centered... tightened everything up, took it off the rack drove off steering angle was still messed up, we did this about 3 times but the steering angle is still out of wack...

im thinking if i just send it to nissan if they will warrenty it? or if they will give me crap for changing out the springs and adding spacers.

Was the toe on the rear checked as well? Either the front or rear not being equal on each side can cause this. If all 4 wheels were aligned then maybe the calibration on the rack was off. Try stringing it maybe?

Alignment machines can be inaccurate they are not perfect they need periodic maintenance and adjustment to keep them accurate. Also, you need to make sure the numbers are correct with correct weighting (driver/gastank), proper tire pressures and after the bolts have been tightened. Just the act of tightening the jam nuts can throw off an alignment a few tenths of a degree. If your machine says the wheels are strait and the wheel is strait when everything is tightened and the suspension is settled on the rack then you are A. Using the Alignment machine incorrectly. B. The Alignment machine isn't calibrated accurately.

The wheel might be centered, but if the sensor is not calibrated to the center, the power steering will push to the side of the steering wheel sensor offset.
Essentially, the ECU thinks you're turning.

I had mine calibrated at Specialty Z, as Seb has a Consult III.
