DIY brake check
Can anyone tell/show me what is good and bad rotar and Pad thickness for my 2012 Sport 370z? What kind of thickness would tell me that I need to replace either or both (rotors/pads). Also, do I need to replace front and back at the same time on this car?
Never been tracked, 19k miles, only limited street spirited driving, but this is my daily driver and I sit in lots of stop/go traffic, for hours some times. Im more than likely going to replace the pads and rotors Recommendations for on new pads/rotors for street?

That info should be in the service manual (see link in my sig).

I feel for a ridge on the edge of the rotor to gauge that.
I have run pads down to the backing plate before. I wouldn't recommend that... but you don't need much material at all. On a street car I would run it down pretty low.. there are squealers that will make a nasty noise if you get too low. |

Do not let the pad material get low. The less material the more they heat up and the more likely the pad material melts onto the rotor. 95% of the time you hear of warped rotor is really the pad material melted onto the rotor.
