09 370z brake light turns on

Most of the time when I punch it the brake light comes on for a few seconds what could it be is this bad ?

It may just be the brake fluid maybe a tad low

Make sure it's topped off

My brakes need to be changed but I know that it can't be going off cuz of that or can it ? Ill be sure to check it out.

Yes. It's common. If you're brake fluid isn't literally filled to the top this can happen. Real finicky.
