Installing Brake Cooling Ducts

Hello all,

I have the Stillen brake cooling ducts... but can't manage to remove the hub to get at the splash shield.

I have removed the wheel, caliper, rotor, rear hub bolts x 4

How do i remove this?!!!

Thanks!!

Put the bolts back in the unit bearing. But only screw in about half way. Next, get a socket and a short extension. Put this on the bolt head. Now hit the extension with a hammer. Do this to all 4 bolts. Hit each bolt a couple of times, then move to the next bolt. You want to move the unit bearing out evenly. ;)

Hit the crap out of them each more than a few times. Not 1 mm of movement.

Don't they make a tool for this??? !!!

Yeah, it's called a press. Yours is really stuck. :icon14: You might be able to heat up the knuckle with a torch some, then beat on the bolts. Be carefully tho.

That's what a Chicago winter does to your car, the hub is rusted and now stuck in place... I had the issue, so did Spearfish25: http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...b-removal.html

A slide hammer is your friend.
