Abs/bake/VDC/antiskid warning

I just put in a new LSD and driving home from shop, I got a dash full of warning lights.
ABS/VDC/anti skid/and "BRAKE" all came on at once.

I suspect the antilock brake sensor may have malfunctioned... Any ideas?

The sensors might have been damaged during the install. They are pretty delicate & expensive

check your brake fluid level. it needs to be almost over the max line, or all three of those lights will come on.

Which LSD? Were different stubs used and if so did they have the ABS ring?

I just installed new tires and all those lights came on as well.

SurfDog 03-07-2013 10:57 AM

Topped off brake fluid and after second start we are good to go. Thanks for the input!

Illmatic370z 03-07-2013 11:03 AM

Is there any specific brake fluid we should use, just checked the level and it right in the middle between low n max? Mine seems to come on while I'm driving above 50mph.

I vaguely remember someone posting about having to reset something to do with traction control/ABS/VDC after changing to tires with different-from-OEM diameter/circumference on one end. If you can't find it using search, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Or one of the wheel sensors may be out of alignment. You may have knocked it out of alignment when changing the tires.

Ok thanks ark car seems only seems to come on during highway driving , but in the city its fine. I just installed two new 285/40/18 in the rear with 235/40/18 in the front . Is there anyway to check /see is the sensor out of alignment?

I'm sure there is a way to check, but I don't know what it is. You should be able to find more than one thread/comment that will explain it. If not, check the FSM (see link in my sig).

I stopped by performance shop anyhow after adding fluid fixed my issue to check for proper sensor alignment. (I used a NISMO diff cover so figured ABS sensor alignment should be right which it was)

They hooked up a code reader to check if my lights were caused by fluid or by sensor error. So. Yes you can check your lights with a code reader

Also as a note of general info, my lights (pictured above) came on ABOVE the "cold max" line (halfway to the "warm max" fill line). Well above the min line. I think these levels are marked in a misleading way as the systems SHOULD work as long as you are above "MIN"

I'm sorry I forgot to snap a photo before I filled/fixed it.
