Average Cost of Coilover Install
Can anyone give me the price they paid for the install?
I understand it isn't hard and I have read up on it but I still feel more comfortable getting my ride height and what not done professionally. Reading up and the whole rear shock adjustment with X amount of preload is a bit confusing to me. |
I think most places will charge you like 50-100 bucks a corner. Plus if you get it corner balanced add some more cash on as well as an alignment.
Preload is simple, the rears are super easy to do... Preload is just raising the spring hatch to X amount usually a 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch with another jack and then lock it in with the rear strut by spinning it down/up to meet the hole the bolt enters into. --- Short story Fronts are always set with pre-load so you just swap out with the fronts. and Dial in whatever height you want. ***NEVER adjust while on the car- Take the entire assembly out adjust and then re-lock then reinstall *** |
Im going to look into it a bit more. It sounds straight forward, im just cautious. Thanks VolkZ
