Fortune auto 500 series coilovers
Nobody really on MyG37.com runs these coilovers so I was hoping my brothers here can help me out.
I was thinking of running KW V3's on my G but decided to go a bit cheaper and put the extra cash saved twords an exhaust. Anyone here know anything? Also they have a SWIFT spring upgrade I was thinking about getting. Anyone running that setup? They look real clean: http://www.fortune-auto.net/fortune%...0%20series.jpg SWIFT upgrade: http://www.fortune-auto.net/swift1.jpg thanks guys :tiphat: |
I know the R32 guys love these
Found this thread on them also: http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...-opinions.html |
They are more reliable because they are "dyno tuned" to your needs...
Many coils below 1500 are not "dyno tuned" their for discredited for track use and labeled as "junk" Have you looked at pricing? They may seem cheap but get expensive fast...my last quote was 1600+ with swift springs... |
^Thanks you sir. Now i know there's a 510 series and want that now haha
Anyone running them on their Z's? |

I've got two sets sitting in my garage waiting to go on my dad's 350 and my 370. We both got the 500's with Swift upgrades. They'll be installed on both cars next month so I will be able to give you my first impression. Build quality looks superb.

Scott, definitely let me know how how they are with swifts, sounds like the best if both worlds...

They've been around for a while.
Not a Z chassis, but for the S chassis, there tends to be some positive reviews: Product Review - Fortune Auto 500 Series Coilovers - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum |
You guys are convincing me more, and more to go with these. I've been looking at the reviews on the older Z forums and so far im impressed
I dont understand why more G37's and 370Z's are not running em though :icon14: |

Hey sfearl1 are these camber adjustable? I purchased the Front and Rear SPC camber kit, but from the pictures it looks like it has camber plates. I guess the bulk of my statement is:
Will I need my front and rear SPC kit? |
I'm running rear SPC camber arms right now with Swift springs, and plan on keeping/using them with the coils. I don't think I'll need front arms with the coils but we will see. Hopefully that answers your question.
|
Thanks sfear. Yea since I have em I might as well keep em. I was thinking about re-selling them but if it might need it, than I might as well just run em.

top of the line 510 series run $2200.
interesting product, in for results! |
Mine are going in next friday. I'll post first impressions and install pics shortly after

Welp, bad news. Left for my coil install this morning and got pulled over for expired tags :| The Z is no longer my DD, so it's pretty much sat in the garage since November.. when the plates expired! I can't believe I let that go. I rescheduled for next Friday. Sorry guys.

Tomorrows the day!

Wow! I'm excited for you man. Honestly, I am looking forward to tomorrow as if I am the one getting them on haha! I get my RHFCs installed on Friday so I think thats adding to my excitement :D

So this definitely happened today! It was an all day ordeal. Coils and exhaust leak at one shop, then lunch, then drive across town for an alignment and [failed] emissions at a buddy's shop.
I have to adjust the coils in the front bc I'm not quite happy with the height - need moar low. I'll be able to put the car through it's paces once I'm dialed in. The short amount I did drive tho was pretty amazing. There's no more float/bounce at highway speed. It feels very planted now. Super stiff but that was expected. Here's a sneak peek.. http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws...0a9f13f8_7.jpg http://distilleryimage9.s3.amazonaws...0a1fa50e_7.jpg More to come |
I need a napkin... and a new set of pants...
|
looking good sfear... any thoughts on a wider tire in the back?

Here's an iphone pic from yesterday. I'm still trying to get my emissions to pass, so I won't be able to post a thorough review until my car is legal..

So how do they feel now that you've been on them for a few days?
If your happy with them I might be grabbing a set next month :D |
I've only driven on them three or four times since the install :( my car failed the emission inspection and my tags are expired right now. It's just been hard finding the time to get the car dialed in and to pass emissions. I wish I could give you a better review.. fwiw though, the car feels way more solid and responsive from the light driving I've done. I hope to have a real review after this weekend.

rise from the dead... i think i want these for my z and add a cup kit to it :D

i stil havent figured out the conversion kit for the m7... im wondering why do only the us brands do true coilovers and all the jdm brands do the oem type version... ive looked at all the coilovers from japan and they are all the oem type versions :(
|
gale do you have a link? to the m7?
|
FYI...I have the 500 series on one of my track 240's. Given it isn't a 370z, I still love the handling. Car feels amazing for daily, or on the track. Just my two cents. Plan on running these soon when I get my 370 Nismo.
|
I tried for a few weeks to get more info from FA on these coilovers via email and facebook, they would never return any of my correspondence.
Ended up going a different direction due to that. |
Funny. I bought mine in February this year. Responded within an hour. Fast customer service. Purchased through import image if I recall correctly.
|
I haven't bought them yet, but they were very responsive and helpful when I inquired about a set last winter. They even said they'd make me a set of "true coilovers" after they have changed the design to our OEM style.
