TEIN flex/monoflex - opinions?
Hey guys,
Saw a few posts, but wanted to throw a line out for any additional feedback the community may have. Mike are you still running those? So, two main questions: 1) Anyone running TEIN Flex/monoflex setup? Feedback? (If anyone has used the EDFC, that would be a plus too) 2) Does anyone know if the EDFC motors clear the rear interior trim, or would I need to cut a hole for proper clearance? I haven't pulled those pieces of trim off, so I'm not sure how much clearance is between the plastic and the top of the strut. Main reason I'm looking at the TEIN setup is that I really like the appeal of being able to adjust dampening on the fly from inside the car. Miss that from years ago with my z32. :) Also, if anyone knows off other options that can be adjusted from inside the car, please pass them along! Thanks in advance! |
yes, I'm running them. No EDFC. I have the Monoflex and stillen sways and Brian Kleeman told me after driving my car that if his World Challenge car handled as well as mine he would really be happy.
I was extremely surprised to get that feedback. |
I had Tein MonoFlex on my 370Z (no EDFC). They worked well on the street and at the track. I had the rebound initially set at the default that the instruction manual suggested, but ended up softening them up by 2 clicks both front and back and the ride on our rough streets were a little jarring after a while.
Not sure if you really need EDFC. It's very expensive, and how often are you going to be adjusting the rebound anyway? In the rears, the adjustment knob is on the side of the upper portion of the shock, not at the top as is the case for other systems. I'm not sure how the EDFC motors install, but for strut installation, you don't have to take off or cut any interior panels. |
I've ran the tein street setup in my honda hatch when I autocross before. The monoflex is almost double in price. Although I am a huge fan of tein. Is this the best nismo z34 setup for the price? Is there something else just as good for cheaper? Or something else better for the price?
Looking to track my car soon for fun at times so I'm gathering info for those with experience. I'm new to the forum so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance. |
