Not suggested with the kit I have (Ait Motion) I think Phantom VIP says you can actually drive with it up. I've done mine on the highway for a short period and down a really bad street but I usually keep it breif to just get up and over something The compressor in the box I have weighed in about 23 lbs I think...and thats in a box with fancy plexiglass etc, so not that heavy...
