Brake light coming on at high RPM! :/

What can cause my Brake light to come on. (E brake light)

Fluid is normal....

Around 6,500-7000k RPM it comes on then goes off.

Is brake fluid at max level? If not fill it to the max

Are you sure the RPM is the trigger, and not the fact that you're accelerating hard? Try running up to those RPMs smoothly and slowly (easy on the gas, just don't upshift, and let the revs keep slowly climbing). It's more likely to be induced by acceleration than by RPMs, although I guess anything is possible (vacuum-related?).

If it's acceleration, check fluid level as noted above. Also check if your parking brake is adjusted properly (if it's way loose, it could slap around and catch the shoes and basically engage itself without you pulling the lever, or simply get mechanically out of whack (parts not attached the way they should be), again it would happen on sudden accel or decel - although I don't see how the car would know to turn on a light for that).

Continuing on the e-brake... You should be using it as they are generally self adjusting. Don't know if it can be related to the light thing but using the e-brake when you park will keep it properly adjusted.

That would happen on my 350z when i would get on it. I was low on fluid and once i filled it up the light went away. Try that

I also have that Brake light issue at high RPM - albeit once a blue moon. It blinked on for about .5-1 second, then went away.

I recently bled the front brakes and refilled to max, and since then I haven't been able to repeat it. Maybe the car has a sensitive fluid level sensor?

I'm thinking faulty sensor.

Bump because I just noticed mine doing the same.

ur brake pads are wearing down, when u floor it, the sensor is sensitive enough to show that the fluid is low. Top it off and it goes away, but check your pads eventually.... for me, once that light goes on, I know I have X amount of track days left before replacement.

Same for me my pads are in great condition, fluid is topped off... Its soo annoying

Now, was that really worth a 9-month old bump?

My sources say: :shakes head:

I've noticed my Traction light come on and off on my gauge cluster also the upshift alert with the setting being off. o.O Only 3,5k miles on my car.
