Sport Package Question
My 370Z pre-purchase research led me to the conclusion that the sports package will have 19" rims and an LSD, so when i checked my car these are the pointers that led me to think that i have a sport package seeing that it has both.
Post purchase it came to my attention that i am supposed to have the Akebono BBK which in fact i don't. So now i am confused; how can i know if my car has the sports package or not. LSD is there and the 19" wheels are there in the 2009 model. Any thoughts????? http://s1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg576/Bigwal/ |
RE: Akebono BBK which in fact i don't.
What do you have? |
Easiest way to check for sport package is the Sport Mode button.

I'm betting someone took your brakes and swapped them for the base. The Akebono's fetch a good amount of cash, while the base can be found for next to nothing.

It would also have the rear spoiler and the front under spoiler if a real sport. If no bbk but you have all the other stuff(19” rays rims, spoiler front and rear, lsd) then somebody did swap out the bbk for base-non sport brakes.
|
OP, do you have a euro-spec Z? Their trims are different.
Most euro-spec Z's, even with the upgraded "GT" package, do not get the upgraded Akebono brakes. Only the USDM 370 abides by the Base/Sport/Touring package models, to my knowledge. |

easiest way to know for sure is to call a dealership with your VIN and ask them if your car does or does not have the sport package.

The dude is in Dubai. The "sport package" may not even be a package depending on the market the car was geared for. Just sayin.

Guys,
My Z is a US import, then I guess they have swaped the brakes since I have the spoiler and the lip and all the other stuff I have mentioned. The base calipers I curently have installed are red powder coated, so this is a strong indicator that the brakes have been swaped. Bad luck. Thanks for your input; guess I am in for an upgrade, the 40th anniversary red akebonos seem like a good option. |
yep- the red powercoat definitely gives it away. the stock non-akebono brakes are silver/unfinished across all lines.
|
Was this ever defined because my 2015 has Red Calipers but they are the bigger stock brakes. When did they start using Red calipers. as I believe this transitioned some time in the past years.
|
op post a pic of your calipers we can easily end the confusion
