A shop should take no more than 4 hours.

A tuner store charged me about $20 to swap the springs for me. Took them about 5 minutes. Don't pay more than 4 hours of labor.

A shop was able to do mine in a little less than an hour. A lot of shops will try to charge you by the book, which usually states 6+ hours for that, so keep asking around till you find an honest one.

+1^
I've had the same experience as well. I took a Legacy GT to a shop for a strut swap and they quoted 3 hours of labor. I hired 2 mechanics to do it for a side job; they worked quickly on their driveway and knocked it out in about 30min. |
