no, its a ROM (Read Only Memory) type. The stuff that gets reset when you disconnect the battery is RAM (Random Access Memory) which is stuff like short term fuel trim, radio stations (on some vehicles) etc..

We have seen this issue crop up from time to time when there is a bad wheel bearing. It moves the speed sensor too far from the hub and it doesn't detect the hub properly.

Just today I was leaving a gas station, and when I went to pull I did a nice spirit from 1st to 3rd and the slip light blinked and then stayed on and then the vdc stayed on. Got to where I needed to go, I shut the car off and turned it on and If went away

Check your brake fluid level. If it's a little bit low. It will cause those lights to come on.

So I am having the same issue as you b1adesofcha0s, my skid light and VDC off light stayed on, after restarting the car, they turn off. Brake light isn't coming on at all though, just the traction lights. What's worrisome to me is that it happens after hitting a few skid patches on the highway (I'm currently in Germany where there's a lot of ice and slush on the roads at times). It'll usually happen when accelerating a bit hard, the lights will come on, I'll restart the car and all seems to be fine. Any idea what causes this? Is this just a pushing too much on the car thing and be nicer under nasty weather conditions? Or do I need to fork over way too much Euro to some German Nissan dealer to get it fixed?

EDIT...o god damn old thread
ive done this before....replaced the wheel bearing on my c300 but put the bearing back in backwards. only one side is magnetic. if you had everything replaced its very easy to not check which is the correct side. it took me a while to figure out what it was as everything was hooked up correctly. if you had everything replaced, make sure it was replaced correctly and the sensor is picking up what it needs to.

Hey guys. I recently had the same issue and what I discovered is that the break fluid and clutch fluid was low. I topped them off and both lights went out. I have a code scanner and it didn't pick them up. However the lights would come on during heavy acceleration. My thought is the low fluid sloshes back and trips a sensor when very low. I mean below low line for my clutch. I had no other symptoms on the car. Now it is fine. Hope this helps someone with same problem.
