Any updates Billet???

Havent checked yet but we just flushed the brake fluid and changed all the rotors and pads so when that was done all was fine.

IF i had a picture of the sensor that would be SUPER HELPFUL. Just tell me this so I completely understand THE ABS SENSOR and the SPEED SENSOR are the same sensor???? I dont see two sensors at all just the abs sensor, which my abs light is off and no brake light

The airbag module is not connected, could that cause it??? Other than that, I have no idea. If something like trash or debry was in the way of the sensor wouldnt the ABS/brake light be on as well? Also I did get an alignment so alignment isnt the issue.

Its been on since the accident but figured it would go away once the alignment was done. Is there a seperate sensor/relay/fuse that may cause it???

Just to be clear, I had changed all my pads and swapped braked lines etc and then I filled the system with DOT 4 fluid. A week later the lights came on and it was my fluid that had "settled" or whatever and I needed more to make the lights go away..

Ill double check when I get home just at work at the present moment. But if anybody has a picture of the sensor that would helpful.

Also if the fluid was low wouldnt the brake light come on?

Strangely enough, no.... the VDC and Traction Slip lights come on.

Yes they are one and the same.

Carbon_z 07-27-2012 02:40 PM

so if the abs light isnt on that means all the sensors are working. So unless the brake fluid is the issue "which ill check in about 2 hours" what else could it be? or is that it?

even if something was blocking the sensor's path, wouldnt the ABS light then come on? just curious.

ChrisSlicks 07-27-2012 04:17 PM

If the sensors weren't getting readings then yes I would expect that the ABS computer would throw a code, disable itself and illuminate the ABS light on the dash.

There is only 2 things it can be at this point, the brake fluid level, and the stability control computer (under e-brake cover). There is an input shaft speed sensor on the transmission but AFAIK that is only used for S-mode engine RPM calculations. The A/T's have an output shaft speed sensor but pretty sure the M/T's don't have this.

Yea the brake fluid is not at Max or min.. Right in the half "cold temp". I didn't add any but would half way cause it to come on? I seriously doubt it but what do u guys think???

Is there a fuse or relay soley for it? Or anything on the rear end driveshaft, differential??

Nissanboy 07-27-2012 08:12 PM

Just sounds like the vdc control module needs to be reset with Consult from the dealership. I happens here at work sometimes even when we only put in a new battery on some patherfinders & xterras

Half way down will make it come on but not right away, usually after the first acceleration or hill.

You can try manually resetting the VDC computer by disconnecting it and reconnecting. If that doesn't work you will need to visit a dealer.

fill the brake fluid to max, that could be the problem.

wheee! 07-27-2012 10:53 PM

I will lol if I was right....

Carbon_z 07-28-2012 01:19 PM

I basically added about 1-2 caps worth of brake fluid lol. Lights still on. Again no brake lights at all or abs light. The button still doesn't respond when I press it. Lights stay on regardless.

Sorry dude.... head to the dealer for the data codes....
