ICHIBA Version II wheel spacers, front??
Hi. Fairly new to the Z scene. Ordered a set of ICHIBA Version ll wheel spacers for my 2012 370Z with sport package. I went with 20mm all around but now I'm having second thoughts about installing them. I thought they were just bolt up with no hassles now I find out there is this special bolt on the front that prevents the accidental swithching of wheels. Sorry for the dumb *** question but I'm guessing you have to remove that bolt or tab?? How hard is it to remove? Maybe I'll just put 20mm on the rear? Anyone notice any significant handling concerns once installed, good or bad? I really didn't want to go hacking my 3 week old car, might have to sell the spacers if it has to be cut off. Thanks.

You need the DRS Stud replacement kind for the fronts. TheDRM will not let the wheels sit flush with the spacer on OEM wheels. The bolt is there to stop you mounting the wrong wheels on the front. Unscrew it...

20mm, more than likely wont be thick enough to bury the stock studs in the spacer, usually need 25mm. They will stick out around 4mm so the wheel will sit against the studs and not the spacer. You can cut or grind the factory stud about a 1/4" off, use the short lugnuts that come with the spacers and thread those on before cutting. Once each one is cut run the nut up and down the thread to clean any burs off. Some people may not agree with this, but many people have done it this way with no problems. Test fit everything, if you need to take a little more off, do so if needed.
I have steered away from removing the factory studs and going with ARP extended due a few rare horror stories of them coming loose from the rotor and the lugnut and stud just free spinning. Once that happens, you are in for a fun time getting the wheel off. |

Wait... what? I have bolt on 20mm spacers on the front and they work just fine. Why wouldnt they? The backside of the stock wheel and almost every wheel has an opening where the stud fit without interfering with the mounting. Look at the wheel on the left, there is a pocket between each of the holes.

I've made my share of responding to old threads but I catch it right away and delete them. Now I pay attention before responding.

^^^ Thanks! Not as clean as I wanted it to be. File size has to be really small to upload successfully. I can make if you want. Let me know.
