Lowered on Swifts. Still scraping!
I'm lowered on Swifts and scrape even on tiny speed bumps.
I'm scraping the on 2 parts of the front underspoiler. There are the plastic deflectors just in front of the wheels that always scrape. I heard these can be removed by unbolting 3 bolts. There is also a plastic chin that sits higher but along the whole width of the front bumper. For those that removed their wheel deflectors. Are you still scraping at driveways? If so, can you remove/modify the front chin also to eliminate scraping?

I have been on many steep driveways with my swifts and rarely scrape. Are taking them on at sharp angles? If not try more aggressive entrance angles. I still scrape every once in a while so I actually trimmed that front plastic piece. I only took off the corner or it. Basically its an even line all the way across the front. I will post a pic later.

I removed both the wind deflectors in front of the tires and the chin spoiler... now I scrape very rarely...

I get my swifts delivered today. Didn't think they made it that low. Just wanted to eleminate some of the gap in the fenders. Should be interesting to see if I can keep from scraping once installed.

Not difficult as much as a little tricky. My dealer had riveted it onto the bumper.... I don't miss it at all... and no, the engine is not exposed as the chin strip only bolts onto the bumper and does not interfere with the undershroud at all.

I guess if I were to leave it on, over time it would just wear down until it either doesn't scrape anymore or it breaks off. I don't see how it would break off.
As long as I don't scrape my bumper I don't care what happens to the plastic underneath there I guess. Anyone thinking the same thing? |

Yea I would leave it on. You can use it as a feeler before you do start scraping your bumper. Without it as soon as you feel some scraping it's too late!

I did this until it cracked and started hanging off on one side.... then i took it off. I left the wind deflectors in front of the wheels for a while too, but then they started pulling off too...
