tein makes some of their products the cheap way and then once you get above the price point their stuff is pretty solid quality like any other reputable brand. It's not a matter of company brand in the <=1000 pricing category, it's a matter of materials and manufacturing. All coils costing less than 1000 bucks are making some sacrifices to deliver that price point. You pretty much get what you pay for with any household name brand.

The best way to shop for suspension is to figure out your short and long term needs/goals and then your short/long term budget.

If it is street/stance you are after and not worried so much about performance/track days then basically any coilover <1000 is going to be nearly the same thing. My personal opinion is that if it is a total street car, then just go with either KW v1's or the Koni+Swift Spec-R setup. You really can not beat it for the price of either and each are equally good and bad in their own way.
