Default Hawk Hp+ up front and Hawk HPS back good combo?

Hi,

will I be fine with Hawk HP+ up front and Hawk HPS at the back for 3-4 hard track laps (after that 1 cooling lap) and daily driving?

I know HP+ will eat my rotors .

Thanks!

I have HP+ all around with stock rotors, the rear is squealing like crazy! But the pads work really well at the track. I do about 8-10 laps non stop no cooling lap in between!!

You will be fine with + up front and regular in the rear, if you didn't upgrade your brake fluid, I suggest u do, ss lines as well.

Yup, the hp plus will tear up/warp the rotors pretty fast!
I am looking for rotor and pad replacement next, probably do dba 5000 up front, and maybe try the endless pads....never ran them before.

The HP+ pads are a good pad for track duty, but they are noisy, and produce tons of dust. I would not use them on the street because you will not like the squealing that will be produced.

I just put these pads through their paces with stoptech slotted rotors @ autobahn's 3.5 mi country club for 6 20 min sessions. Never had any issues, but I need to switch them back out because the brakes sounds horrible under normal braking condition. I haven't seen any damage to the rotors or feel any warping.

How many hot laps can you get from stock pad/brake set up? If you only want 3-4 laps it seems you can get away with less preparation. I may misunderstand the question.

If your doing the Nurburgring then one lap with 140 odd turns would certainly cook your brakes.

After 4 laps on a 2-3 mile road course you are going to cook your stock brakes relatively quick.

Less preparation is not something that should even be a consideration when taking your car to a road course.

Your brake pads should be upgraded, your brake fluid should be changed out and I would also recommend stainless steel lines. If you have the sport brakes, the oem rotors will work because they are big enough to dissipate heat, but a slotted option would obviously work better.

+1

Nordschleife doesnt Cook the brakes because u have Long cooling straights. Hockenheim GP kills your brakes. From 260 to 50 km/h on the Spitzkehre.
