Default M7 Coilover Review

I had the coils for about 2 months now and has been heavily track tested (about 5 track days with a mix of Big Willowsprings, Buttonwillow and Chuckwalla.

Built quality is damn good on these coilovers.
At big willowsprings with sway bars and coilovers I shaved off 3 seconds flat! Went from running 1:38 seconds to 1:35!!

Now that I am getting used to the new suspension setup the car feels great, I think with minor adjustments/tweeks the suspension will be perfect. I chose these coils over the KW V3 due to the adjustment being easier on the M7's and all my buddies are running the V3.

Big thanks to Lou at Amplified Motorsports for 1) opening VERY late for me after hours to accommodate my schedule 2) Great install from his crew and staying up late!! and 3) Great recommendation from Lou on the coilovers, he recommended to get them over the V3!

Now on to some pictures:

Some vids at the track with the new suspension:

At buttonwillow

At chuckwalla
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a77BAdqfVM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TidecCgQz0

You can see it on the videos but the car is VERY stable, can carry tons more speed into and out of a corner!!!

Sweet setup. I'm looking for a new setup myself. Then I'm going to take my new coilovers and have them adjusted on a shock dyno. Thinking of building one of the best suspensions possiable. Which means getting rid of all soft bushings.

If you could let me know the price as well, that would be great.

I was looking at other coilovers that are full front and rear true coilover, the more I looked under the car, the more I went away from true type coilover on the rear. I figured the car wasn't designed to handle all shock, load in that tower. I didn't want to gamble with that at the track........... So far after about 5-6 track days, these are holding up great. Amplified is also working on an adapter to use swift springs, not sure if those are done yet, a lightly stiffer spring would be great for the track but I also DD this.

The other day I saw a set of true type coilovers that also use another spring in the spring perch as well. That makes six springs in total. It was a known Japan company.

I dunno... Folks have run true coilovers on the 350 for years without issue... Both World Challenge teams and the Grand-Am team run true coilovers as well. DWW's and the GA cars run inverted as well.

Yes, i've seen a few cars running full coils, I dd this car and track, so I wanted to keep the suspension geometry as much as stock as possible as I pretty much did all the maintenance/installations (except for the coilovers/sway bar) thanks Lou!

The springs rate are 10/8, 32 clicks of adjustability, I am set at 26 in the front and 28 in the rear for track and I run 26/24 for DD.

agreed. The car was designed to run the spring bucket so I wouldn't stray from that. Also, I would think that you're slightly raising the car's center of gravity by moving the weight of the spring and bucket up to the upper shock area. I've talked to some guys that ran true type coilovers on 350zs and they said that the rear just didn't feel the same in that it didn't feel as planted. Could be the adjustments though.

specs:

10kg front, 8kg rear. We are working with m7 for an adapter to use for the rear springs so we can offer them with Swift springs in the future.

M7 Super Street Performance damper kit was designed for drivers seeking improved handling both on the street and at the track. Includes both ride height and 35 level damping force adjustments to allow the driver to dial in the suspension for various surface conditions. M7 highest quality performance damper is proven on circuit at GT race, drift and drag race.

For those of you that are not aware of the company, they were established in Japan back in 2005.
They have Max Orido, Tanaguchi, Dai Yoshihara, Odi Backis as sponsored drivers but they also test products for M7 before they release them. Real race car drivers at closed circuit courses basically pushing the car to the limits and giving M7 feedback on the parts good or bad to make sure they can change it before selling it to consumers

for the 370z
they also make :

intakes, exhaust, oil and rad cap, they also have racing oil(i love it on my boosted g), oil cooler
