stock break replacements
 

I have seen very much data on big break kits. I don't track and am just a lively street driver. What are good choices for stock rotors, for new calipers? If there isn't really much availabe that is better than stock, that is still good to know. I was thinking about at least getting lighter weight calipers that might also yield better braking.

If you have the base brakes then you can upgrade to the sport package brakes and that will be a pretty big improvement. If you already have the sport package, then Brembo makes new calipers that just bolt right on. DBA makes a 2 piece front rotor for the sport package that is lighter and there are several choices for the rears but those are still going to be single piece. I don't think there are any 2 piece rear rotors for the factory brakes but several BBK come with 2 piece rotors front and back.

If you are only street driving then the stock brakes are just fine IMO. If you want a BBK because it looks cool then that is fine too, but it does get a little pricey. You wont really see significantly better braking performance in typical hard street conditions since the stock brakes are pretty effective, BBK's shine when under repeated braking, i.e. on track. Less fade, more consistency. The AP kit from Stillen is top notch in that regard, hard to beat for the money.

Thanks for the replies. I am not looking for the BBK. After research on this forum, it doesn't seem worth the high cost if I am only street driving. If the stock breaks are sufficient for street I am okay with that. It saves money for something else.

I do wish somebody had two piece rotors for the stock setup.

..if you just want better braking, and have alot of miles on current brakes where it would make sense to replace the rotors, you might look into EBC Ultimax rotors and some Red Stuff brake pads ...

Tree: I am in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I'm glad I went with the Z. I see very few in town. Some 350's but very few 370's.

I still have some miles left on my pads and rotors, and when it is time to buy new I am just looking to see if I can improve over stock. I am perfectly happy if stock is about "as good as it gets" for non-sport.
