Parking brake slight roll before stopping

Is it normal for the parking brake to allow the car to roll an inch or so before stopping the car? I had the dealer tighten the cable for me

Default Parking brake slight roll before stopping

Is it normal for the parking brake to allow the car to roll an inch or so before stopping the car? I had the dealer tighten the cable for me since the parking brake didn't stop the car at all when I got it, but the little inch roll then immediately stop is kind of weird. Maybe the pads aren't sitting correctly? Anyone have any ideas?

Very normal, I haven't had a car that didn't do that.

That's another reason to put your car in gear in addition to the PB.

I do put it in gear. But generally I leave the clutch in, release the brake, and then the clutch. It's a very small distance that it travels, but I've never had a car do it

Mine moves a little as well. I let the car fall on the parking brake then put it in gear.

After applying the e-brake the car should not move.
