2-piece slotted rotor.

Are these currently available from any manufacturers? Looking for rotors only to replace sport 14" fronts.

M.Bonanni 06-12-2009 11:49 AM

Unfortunately none that I am aware of. :( I am waiting too...

RCZ 06-12-2009 11:58 AM

I too. I can call a company or two if we get enough interest.

ChrisSlicks 06-12-2009 12:15 PM

I never got an answer from DBA, I will prod them again.

Cide 06-20-2009 04:56 PM

+1 :d

CBRich 06-20-2009 08:02 PM

These are definitely worth having looking at the monstrous weight of the OEM rotors.

37Z 06-20-2009 10:18 PM

Two-piece flooting rotors FYI

I had two-piece floating rotors on my last Z. Fronts were aluminum hats, rear were steel hats (with e-brake) manufacture by RacingBrake. Great brakes.

If enough interest is generated; they may manufacture two-piece rotors for the 370Z. The stock 370Z sport package rotors are 14" fronts. I don't recall the rear rotors diameters. Most likely the diameter could stay the same.

wstar 06-20-2009 10:20 PM

I think CZP is working on some two-piece rotors for us as well.

travisjb 06-21-2009 01:22 AM

AP Racing makes a nice 2-piece slotted rotor as part of their BBK
:D

RCZ 06-21-2009 11:33 AM

rub it in :)

37Z 07-07-2009 08:19 PM

Are only two-piece with aluminum hats rotors currently available from AP Racing without calipers? I have a 370Z with sport package.

travisjb 07-08-2009 01:23 PM

not sure if they offer rotors that work with stock sport package brakes... I have their big brake kit... suggest you contact josh at stillen to find out more - he's on this board

shabarivas 07-08-2009 01:34 PM

Racingbrake makes awesome rotors :) I had them on my G35 and they were MUCH better than the stockers

Srenity 07-08-2009 11:17 PM

Wilwood sells a ton rotors and hats that in a variety of mix and match sizes. I have not looked at the specs of the stockers in terms of rotor width and hat depth but more than likely they have parts avialable to make a set of two piece rotors with thier off the self stuff.

ZforMe 07-09-2009 04:38 PM

It'd be great if someone could figure out these measurements ( i wouldn't know where to start), and find the correct parts.

Josh@STILLEN 07-09-2009 05:47 PM

We're working on both 1-piece and 2-piece rotors for the 370Z Sport. I'll see if I can get a timeline.

Skaterbasist 07-13-2009 04:51 PM

CZP is working on them. They have the fronts ready, but the rears are holding them back.

Pricing in unclear as of now. This is what he stated on G35driver:

Let me clear this up quickly before anybody gets hurt :)

1pc Stock or Stoptech Front Rotor: 29lbs
2pc CZP Front Rotor: 19lbs

I'll have more weights of all the rotors once these blasted rear 2pc rotors become avialable.

Coz

Any updates???

racerxj17 08-10-2009 09:26 PM

bump. 10 lbs a corner, damn, im in for sure!!!!

ZforMe 08-18-2009 06:51 PM

:bump:

bullitt5897 08-19-2009 12:12 AM

Alliance will be making them for their BBKs and I along with another member will be the first to have them hopefully in just 1 month *fingers crossed* (my speculation) I will post up weights and info once they arrive.

Z1Performance 08-22-2009 07:59 PM

Racing Brake has a 2 piece option coming to fruition soon - details will be on our site shortly :) I've been using their rear rotors on my 350Z for a couple years now, and they have worked out great

Equinox 08-25-2009 08:08 PM

I also would like 2 peice aluminum hat rotors, pref slotted, not cross drilled tho

I too had a 350Z with RacingBrake BBK f/r. Great brakes for the price. Is their rotors to be a two-piece design for the 370Z with sport package?

alan93rsa 08-26-2009 11:05 AM

If Coleman, no relationship, is still around they make replacement rotors for 2 pc rotors. They may have hats as well. I've used them in the past.

Valentino 08-29-2009 04:22 AM

I was going to open a new thread about a 2 pc rotor.

I'm in. Slotted front and rear for me. but they have to be from one of those companies. AP, Brembo, Endless, or any other company that's been race approved.

Endgame 08-31-2009 03:47 PM

i would be interested in a lighter slotted rotor for the Z also.

bmarcinczyk14 09-01-2009 12:23 AM

still no 2 piece rotors for the 370z?!?! anyone have any clue if or when one should be comming out?

1slow370 09-01-2009 05:37 AM

I'd be on board for this too as i was looking for some before i bought the stoptechs after i smoked the stock ones

henryv007 09-03-2009 03:58 PM

I may be all wet here but Stop Tech and Stillen do list cross drilled and slotted rotors for our cars, although they all appear to be 1 pc. like the stock. Am I right that the G37 rotors are the same and will fit the 370z as well? If so its worth looking through listings for those cars as well. Any thoughts as to 1 pc. and 2 pc, one being that much betetr than the other? Im new here so sorry for jumping in with a dumb question, but inquiring minds need to know!

Endgame 09-03-2009 04:10 PM

actually, good question henryv007. what is the difference between a one piece and two piece rotor performance wise?

import111 09-03-2009 04:27 PM

differences:
1. A 2 piece rotor usually uses an aluminum center (hat) which transfers less heat to the wheel, and there for, wheel bearings and other parts.

2. Because of that aluminum hat listed above, 2 piece rotors weigh less, which lightens the car as a whole, lightens the front (which is good if the front of the car is the heavier part), and gives the brake pads less weight to clamp onto which in turn should make for shorter stopping distance (if the tires can manage).

3. From what I have seen in 2 piece rotors, the cooling veins are better designed to evacuate heat.

Add to number 2: it also reduces the rotating mass being driven by the engine, which means 1 pound shaved on a brake rotor is worth a lot more acceleration-wise than a pound shaved on non-rotating parts of the car.

Endgame 09-03-2009 05:57 PM

that is what i figured; just wanted confirmation. THX!!!

They fit yes (370Z to G37 Sport with the Akebono calipers)

Stillen uses DBA rotors. They are coming, but not for a little while

Stoptech will have ones in the future, but right now, they can't even really supply the 1 piece ones to their dealers (long delays)

Equinox 09-04-2009 09:20 AM

this seems like an easy enough product to make, I wonder how hard it would be to take up this idea and make my own :P Maybe offer black, red, and blue anodized centers

NIZMOZ 09-04-2009 09:25 AM

2-Pc Lightweight Rotors for Akebono Brakes - MyG37

2 Piece rotors.....

Equinox 09-04-2009 09:30 AM

The good news keeps rolling in - I found these for our stock calipers as well - they are two peice forged aluminum alloy hats, just like the ones you linked Nismoz, but these seem a little more aggressive
370Z (Sport) - RacingBrake.com

19 lbs compared to 30 lbs.

If my rims weighed 30 lbs I sure as hell would be happy with buying lighter 19lb wheels.

edit - apparently they are the same company as the picture posted in Nismoz link - but the rotor looks different in the link I posted. Hm.
