Was there anything unusual in your setup that could've contributed by putting more stress on it? Unusual alignment, large spacers, very wide wheels, etc? I'm just trying to keep myself from being paranoid next time I'm out in mine.

I didnt have any offs on sunday, except dropping 2 wheels but it was on the passenger side and very soft. I have several offs but none are hard. This was at buttonwillow so we ride the berms pretty hard or "hop" them.... I was running 2:02's in cw13 configuration

I bent a rear one at carolina motorsports park when I went hard sideways against some agressive gator, but snapping one is pretty extreme. I had a "large" friend of mine sit/bounce on the back of the car to bend it enough to drive it back on the trailer

Did you have SPC rear arm? Mine snapped too. I see the defect with them if this was SPC. Worried if this was SPL.
SPC threads arm first and then bends the arm. The threads in place where arm bends are fatigued and allows arm to sheer off. If your arm was SPC then I think it's an arm design if not I will be wanting to see arm and type of breakage. Very interested to see that happened? Was it at threaded section. Did you have threaded section lock nut way out towards the end?

Broken SPC rear camber arm. Broke on the threaded part before the jam nut. He just posted on FB last week. Things of this nature happen. He upgraded to the SPL arms which are beefier. Still I feel there is nothing wrong with SPC products. When you track a car things happen in time.

Things happen...I can see that after contact.. Or an off track excursion ...and go backwards over curbing.
But if a part fails under load...without these other circumstances... There is only one answer...it's not engineered properly. Just saying. |
