Attachment 44176 Attachment 44177 i hope it doesnt look like that............. |
while I haven't seen base Canadian calipers, I'm 99.9% sure Nissan didn't design a different base set just for you guys. You get the same ones.

WHAT A WASTE OF $$$$$$ im no longer looking forward to the arrival of my ride.. i thought it came with these rims and calipers..... they said nothing about design change if you upgraded to sport or navi, they just stated larger wheels and calipers, and rotors.. nothing about damn design... so im going to be stuck with your wheels? no offence, i just prefer these ones Attachment 44197 Attachment 44198 |
uuuh his wheels are Vossen, not the stock nissan ones.
Base 370Z wheels and brakes: http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/...st0320_042.jpg Sport 370Z wheels are brakes: http://image.automotive.com/f/2010_n...ront-wheel.jpg What exactly did u order? Base, Base+Sport, Base+Touring, Sport+Turing?? |
Sorry to say, OP, but you should have done your research.
The upgraded brakes, wheels, differential and syncro rev-match along with the rear deck spoiler and aero add ons are part of the sport package. For what it's worth, the sport wheels come up in the marketplace quite often and they don't cost much, especially considering they are fully forged 19s. |
Yeah, you may want to cancel that order before it's too late.
|
Well, he asks about 'caliper', not wheel. And the caliper in my pic is the base one. The pic posted by OP is the sports brake with sport 19in.

It's more simple in Canada, there are only 3 choices: 1) Base (which comes with Bose system) 2) Sports 3) Sports+Nav |
:wtf2:

OP, you sure you don't have the base + sport package? If so, you have the wheels and brakes you wanted.
As far as I know, in the US it's Base vs. Touring, and either can have the sport pack. |
this is bs, spent so much on the car and it comes with shitty calipers ffs.. same calipers as the nissan leaf, gota b kidding me.. great... just great.. and im not going to cancel, because ive waited long enough, and im sure its too late to do so. btw i have the base. and in canada, we only have base, sport, navi. you can call base touring i guess..same thing.. but the sport package cost 4K extra. i was hoping for the sport rims, but i guess ill buy a set of chrome and a set of black rims too..
anyone know where i can get the calipers that look like sport calipers, similar looks, and i dont want to spend a fortune. this way i save alot, rather then spending 4K on a sport package |

I believe you can upgrade to sport brakes with the correct calipers, rotors, lines, and brackets... not sure if the booster/cylinder is different though. IMO more worthwhile to get it from the factor though as it would come with the other sport options and would be warrantied.

Here's another one.

here you are, starting at 1395
Z1 Akebono Sport Brake Upgrade Package |
Quote:
You can't just buy "bigger calipers"... bigger calipers require bigger rotors, bigger pads, bigger brackets, and shorter lines. The parts sold seperately would cost significantly more than the package itself. |

any way of getting out of my contract? they said the car was ordered and should be in next week, april 13 |
Quote:
is that kit all i need? oh man.. sounds too good to be true, the whole kit for $1395 |
Quote:
Talk to the sales rep and explain the situation. If he did not inform you about the specs on the car you were getting or gave you wrong information then I would expect him to make it right.. If you just went in there and ordered the car without asking questions though.. that's another story |
Quote:
for brake pad options, i have no idea what those are and do i really need to spend an extra $90 for Z1 stainless steel brake lines? i dont want to spend too much, but will as long as its no where near 3K. because if im going to spend over a 1K on important things like brakes on a brand new car, than i wont be stingy over an extra grand or so |
Quote:
|
yes they will ship to Canada.. From what I can tell you only care about the brakes looking pretty behind a wheel.. if so, don't get the SS lines.
|
Yeah but the point I was trying to make is that the Sport package actually works out cheaper because the wheels consistently sell for around $1000, it would cost somewhere around $300-400 to add the spoiler (replica), probably $500-1000 for a used VLSD, easily 1k+ for the brakes (complete) and the synco-rev is priceless because I don't think you can add it after... your not even adding in the other little things like the chin spoiler/diffuser. You are spending approx 1/2 the price of the package on the one component and that is just for looks according to you.

You are about to spend $1400 on the BEST low end BBK and its really that much of a hassle to make them more dependable and stop shorter for $90 extra? So for you a BBK is purely cosmetic??? Why not save some cash and get riced out caliper covers? Brembo makes a quality set that will fool most. |

he said they cant.. doesnt make sense why not..
|
If you bought the sport upgrade package from Z1 I am sure you could sell the base calipers, rotors and pads to help offset the cost.
|
If it's not a sport package Z then you don't have the upgraded brake hardware. In all honesty, even the upgraded package isn't that awesome -- the car is far from "over braked".
I'd just shop around for aftermarket parts that satisfy your wishes -- if it's too much money to do that, then don't worry about it. Just get better pads, SS lines and call it a day. Will still be a HUGE improvement over stock on the cheap. Now if you are tracking the car, that's another story, but again even then you'd need better brakes if you had opted for the sport pack anyway. |
Quote:
:iagree: The 'Sports Brake' comes with the sports package cannot withstand tracking, you need to upgrade the whole system anyway. If you didn't take the sports package, use that $4000 on new brakes and someother mods. I'll say the money is more well spent. |

i wonder how much the base calipers, rotors, pads cost, and how much it would be bought for |
