Yeah but the point I was trying to make is that the Sport package actually works out cheaper because the wheels consistently sell for around $1000, it would cost somewhere around $300-400 to add the spoiler (replica), probably $500-1000 for a used VLSD, easily 1k+ for the brakes (complete) and the synco-rev is priceless because I don't think you can add it after... your not even adding in the other little things like the chin spoiler/diffuser. You are spending approx 1/2 the price of the package on the one component and that is just for looks according to you.

your absolutely right, i waited almost 2 years, excitement got the best of me and i wasnt thinking. and now im fkd, i paid a deposit and the car should be in a week or more, so im screwed right? or is there a way out of my contract? i dont see a way out. going to call tomorrow to ask

You are about to spend $1400 on the BEST low end BBK and its really that much of a hassle to make them more dependable and stop shorter for $90 extra? So for you a BBK is purely cosmetic??? Why not save some cash and get riced out caliper covers? Brembo makes a quality set that will fool most.

true. was thinking that too, go big or dont go, thats my way of saying it. and no fake covers, wouldnt feel good for me

A lot of Z in Canada are with Sports Pack, I bet the dealer can change the order for you, it'll increase the price, why wouldn't they do that..

he said they cant.. doesnt make sense why not..

If you bought the sport upgrade package from Z1 I am sure you could sell the base calipers, rotors and pads to help offset the cost.

If it's not a sport package Z then you don't have the upgraded brake hardware. In all honesty, even the upgraded package isn't that awesome -- the car is far from "over braked".

I'd just shop around for aftermarket parts that satisfy your wishes -- if it's too much money to do that, then don't worry about it. Just get better pads, SS lines and call it a day. Will still be a HUGE improvement over stock on the cheap.

Now if you are tracking the car, that's another story, but again even then you'd need better brakes if you had opted for the sport pack anyway.

:iagree:

The 'Sports Brake' comes with the sports package cannot withstand tracking, you need to upgrade the whole system anyway. If you didn't take the sports package, use that $4000 on new brakes and someother mods. I'll say the money is more well spent.

ya, i think im going to order the Z1 brake kit thats 1395$ from the link on the other page, or something with a similar price. and hopefully get wheels from rays te37s, i think it was called, or anything that looks like it, planning on getting all my cosmetic items, and installing it altogether rather then 1 at a time, and then focus on performance after.

i wonder how much the base calipers, rotors, pads cost, and how much it would be bought for

Just price out the base parts and list them for less than that. Probably won't offset much of the cost but every little bit helps.

Or you could use the money from the sale of the base brakes to have Mike powder coat your new calipers in any color you want. :D
