Alignment spec's?
Ok so I'm lowering the z this weekend with coillovers and rear camber arms and toe bolts. What would be the ideal alignment specs of a daily driver that goes to the track 2-3 times a month?

everyone always asks.. and everyone notes that its not that easy of a question to answer... too many variables.. but no one listens... so here...
-2 front -1.2ish rear shade toe out front no toe rear |
acutally you want a little toe out on the rears, when you accelerate the back end flexes inwards on the car. Also toe out on the front will cause your car to wander in the rain gutters and give you tire feathering. fyi

If anything, the car squats under accel causing it to toe out dynamically. It will do the same when you load one side in a corner.
Toe out in the front gives better turn in. But what do I know. |
Unless you are driving an Evo or can drive, toe out in the rear is a huge no no. search toe out snap oversteer

yah, toe-out condition in back is asking for trouble...
|
If anything you want toe-in in the rear, just a hair. I wouldn't go too crazy on your angles if it's a DD, unless you like buying $700/pair tires :)
Factory specs for the rear are Camber: -1.6 degrees and .3 (.16 per side) total toe-in. I would go a little more negative on the camber, but keep the toe at factory. |
