Akebono Sport upgrade from base brakes
Took a little longer than i thought, but I'm finally finished upgrading my base brakes with Akebono 40th anniversary brakes. First thanks to Z1 Motorsports with awesome customer service and quick delivery, and my brother helping me with the install. I decided to upgrade because I plan on adding more power, not FI, however I needed better brakes. So I went with the SS lines and Hawk HP plus brake pads to give me a good upgrade for daily driving and occasional track use. Sorry not too detail pics I was pressed for time at my school's shop b/c of spring break, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask

Looks real good. I am doing the same upgrade through z1 motorsports. I was just there this past weekend and they gave me a quote. Let us know how much better it is then the base brakes! Also, post more pics when you get a chance.

I haven't driven it too much, but they do feel better, not a huge difference but definitely better than the base, and yea I'll post more pics once I wash her up

Great thing to do. I did the same but didn't like the HP+ pads. I can tell you after three track days and about 5K miles my rotors are holding up great.

Just remember that HP+ pads will score rotors more than my Carbotechs. Nothing to really worry about there just not as friendly.

Yes one day and It was on the Z1 rotors. But it wasn't bad. I could slightly see and feel the effects everyone here has mentioned. My buddy went threw his HP+ pads in one track day. It was brake intensive track. But that's some food for thought. Now that I'm on Carbotech it's all good. They have lasted me awhile. But costly.
