It's the man hours, material and extensive machining that goes into them. Anyone that has seem them up close .. can appreciate the detail work... They are extremely light weight .. And extremely durable.
The parts that we use are spec'd to very precise tolerances. Initially we did look at putting in lesser quality parts... Different spehericals, less machine work..but felt in the end.. that isn't what we are about. And truthfully they wouldn't last in the environment that we use them in. They are the exact arms we race with on the RC. Put it this way... If they were that easy and cheap to make... There would be plenty of companies making them. |

Exactly. Quality costs money. If your margin or production timeline doesn't allow a group buy, such is life. It just seemed there's a lot of pent up demand for the SPL stuff, and you could beat them to the punch.

Spl has a good arm in itself. The bushing and the actual adjustment is sloppy in design. But it works. So my point and what I wonder if you guys did make a arm in the same design with less cost material but still strong (might be heavier),different sphericals, and the machine work could maybe stay the same I think you guys could easily have a great product for half the cost or even seventy five percent.

For cost I just say reenforce the SPC arm with tying down the nut and maybe finding a better bushing.

I meant SPC. There the only one with arms to compare. I was trying to apply/ compare the main piece of the arms themselves. The best thing to do in which I feel is a 95% fix is what my buddy did in the link below. Which it seems I'll end up doing. I just wanted to have SPL everything. Now if I can get some solid bushings to insert into the SPC arms I'd be good.
"SPC camber arm fix"

That's a lot of work people can't do sometimes. I say 150lbs torque spec and drill two holes for 2 bolts next to the main nut. Drill pilot holes in the main nut and new bolt heads and safety wire it down. Then bushings.

Not really interested in building 8s.
Build 8s and the one time they fail... It's a complete fail. This is suspension...not an exhaust system. Tracking at high rate of speed... Or going through an intersection.. A fail... Isn't worth it. BiG Picture |

Perceived quality and reputation of a brand is very hard to maintain and very easily lost. You guys are professional race team, rightfully so the parts you guys make should reflect circuit grade. We will just have to wait for SPL, patiently....patiently....patiently.... It's just "2 more months" guys lol |

Thats my car.....My driver front hub assembly snapped on me last night. How? Good question. I was going 25 mph, made a right hand turn and the car decided to go straight into some high brush. Almost a clean break all the way across. Possibly a defect but how can I prove that?
I'm running PowerTrix R/T coilovers. I really like them.

Sorry ... that does suck. Glad you (and anyone else)are okay. This is exactly the situation that I am referring to. One instance like this... And it's not good at all.... for anyone. While suspension parts are not as "fun" as bolt on parts that produce HP gains... there is far more at stake. |
