Question Sound Performance Differential Brace - Volunteers?

Is anyone familiar with the differential brace for the 350Z? Sound and Performance does not have one for the 370Z, but would like to see if anyone local in that area would like to bring their car in to have them look at it and see if they can fabricate a solution for our cars.

Sound Performance – Blog 350z diff brace

The differential brace helps reduce or eliminate wheel hop due to excessive differential movement.

I'd love to add this brace along with polyurethane bushings (when available) to eliminate wheel hop.

I had the 350z brace on my G37, I'm sure it'll fit the 370z too. The problem was the weakness of the material/design. After less than 10k miles, the welds on both brackets can loose and the brace became useless.

They're only about 40 minutes from me. Any idea how long they'd need the car or what would be involved in testing it?

I actually have a brace, for a 350Z, from Sound Performance and I guarantee that it won't fit. It's too big and needs to be redone. The spacing between the differential and main support beam (where the rear diff bushing is installed) on the 370Z is smaller and closer than the 350Z. There isn't a lot of room or beam material to install a brace on the 370Z. I would be hesitant to actually install one of those braces, as the main support beam could actually be weakened by installing a brace to the diff and develop stress cracks over time

I have a SPL bushing kit for the diff for a 370Z and a 350Z and there are differences. The rear bushing on a 370Z is smaller. Whereas the 2 front bushings on the diff are the same size.

Updates to follow this spring during the install.

modme, I read a few posts from people who said the brace welds and tubing were weak. Do you have stock bushings?

Cool. Yea, they've not had a chance to check out a 370Z. It'll be nice to know if it is feasible.

Other than that, I'm still waiting for a polyurethane bushing kit.

I have stock bushings. The whole point of the brace for me was to provide support and distribute the load so that the stock bushing will not fail over time. But it seems like the brace cannot handle the load.

Yea, which is why I'm waiting for some polyurethane bushings instead of solid ones as part of the solution.

Here's a store that makes polyurathane bushings. They seem to only have 1 model and claim it fits 370z and G37 too. Might want to get in contact with them.

Sweet! I'll definitely contact them. I just need to get the front poly bushings. If the SPL front bushings are the same, then perhaps I can check up on the poly bushings!

It's a good start for now.

Sorry, but I'm not impressed with what I see on the video.

This design will be sloppy and probably work itself loose and need to be retightened continiously

Whiteline is still testing the differential bushings for our vehicles, so we will have to wait. Is there an extraction took for the rear bushing for our cars yet? I would hate to pay an arm and leg for the labor involved taking everything apart.

Too bad you can't bring it out to El Paso.
