i just got the front whitelines (soft setting) on my car. other than the nismo wheels and yok's, my base is stock suspension wise. car feels great.

from the read, the hotchikis is too stiff. i suggest checking out stillens too. i think they their bar uses the stock bushings too so you wont have to worry about the issue i noted in the pict above. i run stillen bars on my G. no issue the last 8yrs. :)

if i was to do it over, i may just get the stillens and install only the front bar and set it at med (or around 30% stiffer than stock). imho, the car does not need stiffer rear bar if running stock suspension... it just needs a slight stiffening up front.

I'm on the Powertrix Road/Track coilovers though. I guess I will just have to install the rear sway bar after my new tires and adjust the stiffness of the rear coils when it comes down to it. I wonder if the full stiffness of the rear for the hotchkis would ever be useful to anyone or if its just a ridiculously beastly bar that is pointless lol.

This thread is over a year old so back then, they probably were not out yet.

Why don't you guys just buy sway bars with the welded on sleeves?

ZMan8 04-29-2013 10:21 AM

Mr. Kenchan, so would you NOT recommend the whiteline sways?

Baer383 05-03-2013 08:22 PM

I had Stillen sways and now I have Whitelines

Big differance.

Zoren 370 05-03-2013 08:30 PM

I would definitely recommend the whitelines.
I do have swift springs and complained how much it bounce in the rear
but after installing the whiteline with setting of soft in front and medium in the rears its basically gone very stable with no roll at all even on sharp curves at 80mph.

Never had so much fun until now.
IMO suspension up grades should be of prime consideration above all other mods.

hey for those that installed the front whiteline, can you do me a favor and look down your engine bay to see if the front swaybar bushings are pushed inwards towards the center of the car on both sides? (you can just shine a flash light straight down and you should see the yellow bushing and the bar itself).

i suppose the bushings wont pop out from the clamps because the bushings themselves are keyed, but just wondering.

here's the driver side bushing looking at it from the engine bay (top). does yours look like this? the bushing is slightly pushed towards the center of the car. this is the same way on the passenger side.

Kenchan, this has happened to me and the tab that holds the bushing from sliding out permanently broke off after a spirited run. The whole bushing slid out of the bracket and caused the sway bar to hit the brace area on every bump. I didn't have any spare bushings so I reversed the bushing so that the unbroken tab was on the outside and put it back on. Will be contacting whiteline to see if I can get any replacements but yeah.....

Bushing in question is front-driver. The car has seen about 6-7 autocrosses as well.
