Steering too light?? Need help!
So lately my steering on my Z feels really really light (way to easy to turn the wheel) the roads in my area are bad as well. Could something have broken? Or is my car out of alignment? It seems to just recently have started. Car suspension is stock btw

if something was broken (steering pump) the steering will feel VERY HEAVY so i think you might be experiencing slicker roads from temperature or aligment needs adjustment.
|
old tires make the steering feel light too, just a thought.

Usually a "light" feeling is associated with caster being out of spec. If it's not worn components or tires, then I'd have your alignment checked.
|
I'd start with checking alignment

Made my appointment to have the car realigned Wednesday morning. Thanks for the help and I'll keep everyone updated

Well I know this was a while ago but I hope some people read it and here's why. The steering began feeling light so I had the alignment checked. Everything was good and nothing was broken. Steering got worse and then BAM the steering lock went out. Well after waiting forever and driving a SWEET rental fiat haha I got the lock fixed under warranty and guess what?!?!? Steering is back to normal. Maybe the steering being light was a precursor to the lock failure? Who knows but others might want to watch out

Thanks for the update, I'm glad you're back to normal now.

would your issue been fixed by doing a ECU reset? |
Well I'm not sure of the technical aspects, it was just very odd timing. It got worse and worse then bam steering lock failure. After they put the new rev-d unit in and I picked it up, it was back to good old meaty steering I've come to enjoy from my Z. Could be coincidence I guess, but I had steering issues, unit went out, got replaced and everything was good again. The timing was just to weird for it to be chance and when they fixed it, everything went back to normal
